Integrated Football – The new frontier of Sport for All

Integrated Football –

The new frontier of Sport for All

At the end of project “European Day of Integrated Sport” –co-funded byErasmus+ programme- the regulations of some integrated sports disciplines were defined. It was a new achievement for socially inclusive sports activity regarding disabled and non disabled athletes. The set of rules for Integrated Football resulted the one which best represents the highest integration among disabled and non-disabled athletes. This project means to develop Integrated Football activities, to involve people with cultural and social inclusion difficulties and to found the European Network of Integrated Football. Building on the sporting regulations published and forwarded to the Olympic and Paralympic National Committees of EU countries in the frame of “European Day of Integrated Sport” project, we will hold a training course for sports technicians and a training course for referees of this new discipline. The smart complexity of the regulations allows all participating players to actively contribute to achieving the final result. This represents a new frontier of social inclusion through sport. After the training courses, a team of Integrated Football will be built in each participating country. All teams will compete in a tournament during the European Week of Sport. This tournament will take place at the sports facilities of the University so that the young students will learn about the new job perspectives offered by integrated sport. At project closure an Association of Integrated Football will be created in each participating country: this will assure continuity to this project since the Association will keep on the activities at national level. The European Network of Integrated Football and the newly established Sports Associations will be officially presented at a public meeting with all partner organizations. At this meeting, the 2018 calendar of Integrated Football and the sticker album with the pictures of project participants will be distributed.
