Important Information for Incoming International Students

In order to apply for an Erasmus+ mobility at the National Sports Academy “Vassil Levski” (NSA), you must first be officially nominated by your Home University.
We strongly recommend that you contact the responsible person at your university’s International Relations/Erasmus Office to receive detailed information about your eligibility and participation in the Erasmus+ Programme.

Who Can Apply?

International students from institutions that have an active Inter-Institutional Agreement with NSA may apply to study for:

  • One semester, or

  • A full academic year


1. Online Nomination by the Home University

All nominations must be submitted via the official NSA online nomination form, which must be completed by the Erasmus Coordinator at the Home University.

Nomination Deadlines:

  • 15 June for students applying for the Winter Term (September–January) or Full Academic Year (September–June)

  • 15 November for students applying for the Summer Term (February–June)

Note: We no longer accept nominations by email, post, or other methods. If you do not receive the nomination form or require further assistance, please contact: incoming@nsa.bg


2. Online Application Form

After we have processed the official nominations, nominated students will receive instructions and a link to complete the NSA Erasmus Online Application Form and upload the required documents.


3. Learning Agreement (LA)

Students must submit a Learning Agreement for Studies or Traineeship, either:

  • Through the Erasmus+ App or Erasmus Dashboard (Online Learning Agreement – OLA), or

  • By uploading a scanned, signed paper version.

The Learning Agreement must be:

  • Fully completed;

  • Signed by the student;

  • Signed and stamped by the responsible coordinator at the Home University.

4. Required Documents (to be uploaded)

  • Copy of valid passport or national ID

  • Copy of European Health Insurance Card

  • Transcript of Records in English (official document issued by the Home University, listing completed courses, grades, and ECTS credits)

  • Passport-size photo


5. Important Submission Guidelines

  • Ensure your email address is correctly provided

  • Incoming students are expected to have a minimum B1 level of English (CEFR)

Don’t buy travel tickets and do not make any mobility-related costs before receiving your Acceptance Letter!

Before arrival at Sofia don’t forget to:

  • send a copy of your EHIC/Health Insurance valid for the full period of your stay in Bulgaria;
  • make sure that your Passport/Identity Card is valid for the full period of your stay in Bulgaria;
  • inform your Embassy in Bulgaria (if any) about your Erasmus mobility at NSA;
  • connect with other Erasmus students and ESN Sofia.
